Summer Plans
In the summer, I am busy with softball, fair, I get to celebrate my birthday, I have basketball camps, and other small stuff.
I look forward to fair the most because I get to see my friends, and fair has a lot of different things to do. I am a 4-her so I have to work the Food Stand, show my projects, and I have to work the Exhibit Hall at least once. I love fair because my friends that aren't out for softball or anything I am involved in the summer, I get to see them at fair and they always look different! I love just being able to walk around fair and just talk to my friends. I also love riding the rides.
On my birthday (June 26), my family and I are going to be in our new built home. So I am hoping to have a lot of girls over to explore the new house! We will probably go swimming, like we always do, and we might have a campfire!
This summer, I am going to do a lot of swimming and four wheeling! I love being outside in the summer because my hair gets lighter and everyone gets tanner! Dad says that I am going to be outside twice as much once we get into the new house because it is all going to be new. Even though we won't have grass for another year!
Another thing that I love about summer is softball games. I like playing in the hot weather, even though I can sometimes get headaches. Softball is a huge part of my summer. I love watching the tournaments! Mom used to work in the Concession Stand a lot, so I would always go with her to watch the games. I also love playing softball in the summer because at the end of the season, we always poor our water bottles on the coaches and we always have swim parties at Brooke's house because her pool is huge!
In the summer, I am always practicing either basketball or volleyball because those are my two favorite sports! I am going to a Marion Camp this summer just to keep caught up on basketball, so when the season starts I won't be rusty and it gives me something to do!
Towards the end of summer I start wanting to go back to school because I miss my friends and I haven't seen different people in a long time. I also like seeing last years teachers and being able to talk to them! I can't wait for seventh grade because you have many things to get involved in and you are known as the "big kids". But I don't look forward to the homework. My summer is pretty busy!

How I Want to Be Remembered
When I graduate High School I want people to say, 'She was a good kid, a nice girl, very athletic, she deserves to go to college." Something like that is my goal. Being a High Schooler can be hard. Your friends change, you change and when I graduate I want to be happy and have a Scholarship and be attending a great college. By the time I graduate there may be different teachers and different principals, but I want to be able to see them smile or maybe even a tear as I finish my Senior year.
Graduating is a big step but making it to a good college like, Stanford or Harvard, is even better. I am planning on going to either Mount Mercy or Iowa to be a Pediatrician and either play College Basketball or Volleyball. I love little kids and I want to be busy. In order to go that far and achieve that goal, I need to work hard, get good grades, stay out of trouble, and be very determined.
Now, graduation Middle School isn't that hard because people always say High School ruined their life. Middle School people are just getting mature, or like adults. They are getting in relationships and going out to movies with friends. Parents usually are very laid back at this stage, and I want to be remember as a kid who went out with friends but didn't get into drugs or got in a bunch of trouble. Me? I can't wait until High School! I am excited for the sports getting more competitive and I can't wait until my friends and I can go hang out! Some people don't care how they are remembered they just want to get out there. I want to have a good reputation and when the Wildcats are playing at home I want to be a Wildcat again, so I will come visit!
Graduation can be very bitter sweet, it's a happy time because you're going to college and you've achieved so much throughout High School, but yet you don't want to leave your friends. Even now, I feel old. I'm going into seventh grade! I can only imagine how many people use that reason to stay. Graduation is one thing I won't forget.
When I graduate I want all of my classmates to miss me, I know I will miss them. I want my teachers from younger grades to be there so I can give them a big hug.
My reputation is important once I get into High School. I don't want to be a druggy student who doesn't get their homework done and who people doubt that I will get in College. I want to be the exact opposite. Leaving school should be hard for everyone who is a respectful and responsible student. That is how I want to be remembered.

Is the Easter Bunny Real?
I woke up and I ran out to the living room, hoping to see my Easter basket full of candy. As I sat in front of the basket in shock, I unwrapped my first piece of candy. I had gotten so much candy it was surreal! Mom and Dad weren't awake yet so I could hide the Easter eggs. I always wanted to hide them before Mom and Dad woke up so after we all show what we had gotten, Mom and Dad could find them. As you can see I love Easter.
After Mom and Dad woke I showed them my new softball glove, jump rope, and sidewalk chalk. Mom got a new apron and Dad got some working gloves, just what he wanted! We all began using our new gifts from the Easter bunny. Mom had already baked two dozens of chocolate chip cookies, my favorite.
"Hey Emily, guess what I got from the Easter bunny?" I asked as I walked onto the school bus.
"What did you get?" asked Emily as she eyed her other friends who were sitting around the area.
We were sitting in the back of the bus by all the "cool kids".
" I got my purple jump rope I wanted and my new sidewalk chalk, along with my super duper awesome catching softball glove!"
"Wow, she still believes in the Easter Bunny?"whispered Morgan, one of Emily's friends.
"What are you guys talking about?" I said in concern.
"Guys, I told you to shut up!" said Emily harshly.
Emily was the type of girl that if you were friends with her, you were admired. She was known as "Miss popular".
"They just said that you believing in the Easter Bunny was cool!" said Emily.
"No! I said that she still believes in the Easter Bunny. As in that's not even close to cool!" said Morgan.
"But! Why not? Do you believe in the Easter Bunny, Emily?" I asked.
I began to feel like a little kid. Still believing in the Easter Bunny, really? I felt like they were making fun of me because I still believed in him! He is real, right?
"Camryn, sorry to say but, the Easter Bunny is your mom and your dad!" Morgan said really loud.
After school I ran home and busted through the door!
"Mom! Promise to tell me the truth, even if you don't want to, okay?
"Honey I don't know why you are telling me this but, okay!"
"Are you and Dad the Easter Bunny?" I asked nervously.
"Yes, we are but that shouldn't ruin your happiness of Easter!"

*The next day...*
"You guys were right, Mom and Dad are the Easter Bunny." I said disappointingly.
"It's ok Camryn we all still love Easter so don't let that bring you down!"
"Okay, thanks guys, do you want to play with my super duper awesome catching glove I got from Mom and Dad?"
"Ahh ya! Of coarse!" Morgan and Emily said together.

Football Consussions
Concussions have a big effect on our football players. 31% of athletes with concussions, are rushed back onto the field after their injury. A quote from Damien Woody (New York Jets player), goes along well with that fact. "A lot of people think we're gladiators, but we're human beings. We get injured and we've got the rest of our lives to worry about it. Playing football is like a vapor, it's here and it's gone and you still have the rest of your life to live." I think that quote means that, don't take football injuries for granted. Football injuries are very important and they cannot be predicted. A study has shown that football players who have suffered 3 or more concussions have a tripled risk of depression. Several professional football players have committed suicide. Autopsy results revealed brain damage.
My opinion about this whole concussion thing, is that suffering a concussion is something that happens when playing football because football is tough, but you have to worry about your health and safety. I also think that football players think that they won't get hurt because they are supposed to be tough in football, but when those football players do get a concussion or something severe, they probably won't play football the same again. Concussions can change someone's career.

Comparing Summer to Winter
Summer is my favorite season, I chose to compare it to my least favorite season, winter.
Summer has a lot of differences compared to winter. Unlike winter, summer is a very warm season. One difference that I don't like about summer is that there are bees. Nobody likes bees. Summer is the time to wear tank tops, flip-flops, and shorts. I like to dress that way! Also in summer you can eat popsicles and ice cream! Yum!
In winter, it's very slippery and the ground is covered in snow. So, you have to wear snow boots, snow pants, hats, gloves, and a heavy coat. Even though winter isn't my favorite season, I like to drink hot chocolate when it gets cold. Unlike summer, you can ride snowmobiles, skis, and you can go sledding!
Some similarities of both summer and winter, are that they both have some type of storm and they both have people who like or dislike that season. You can play outside in both of them, and they both are a season, obviously.
I think readers would agree with me that summer is the best season out of all the four. I think that because you can go swimming, play softball, have fun outside, and it's warm temperatures all of the time.

If I Were In Charge Of The House
If I were in charge of the house it would be so fun! I would watch T.V, jump on my bed, invite as many friends that I want over, and I would play on my iPod for a long time and make sure I had a charger! If I got hungry I would make myself my some delicious blueberry muffins, popcorn, and I would snack on ice cream. I might even watch my favorite movie Pitch Perfect. I could probably watch that movie all day! With my friends, I would play a game or watch more movies or just talk, it depends on what they want to do. I would have my friends stay the night. If my friends and I happened to get bored, we would invent a Cleaner Machine. It looks like a laser gun and all you would have to do was pull the trigger and cleaner spray would come out. After the gun sprays, a towel comes out and long, thin arms pop out with, and wipe up the cleaning spray to make it nice and sparkly. The gun would be blue and green, it would be in the World Record Books for the greatest invention.
My room would be full of clothes, but it would look organized. When I open my closet, all you would be able to see was shoes. Such as, basketball shoes and volleyball shoes, tennis shoes and they wouldn't be any ordinary shoes, there wouldn't be a pair like it in the world! My friends and I would take pictures of our silly clothes that we would pick out to wear! Once the best day of my life is over, the house would look like a tornado blew through it and neither of us would be able to talk because we were laughing so hard! My mom and dad wouldn't be too happy about it!

Last Weekend
Last weekend I had a volleyball tournament at West Delaware. I was so nervous because it was our first volleyball tournament! I am the setter and that is a big job! I have to have a good day that day otherwise my sets are terrible! That's just how it goes for me. On my team there is, Maci, Madison, Sammy, Brooke, Olivia, Faith, Kaela, and me. I'd say we are pretty good! The only thing we have to work on is getting back on defense, blocking and getting in our new positions when we get the ball back. But that is a lot of moving so that's probably normal. I really like volleyball because you are always moving. When we get our serves over our team is very good! Our two competition teams were The Starmont Stingers, and the West Delaware (A) team. Al says that they are just very experienced. I'd say that the next time we play them, they better watch out because Al's goal is to beat the Stingers and when Al says something to himself he will do anything in his power to get it to turn out positive. We've beaten the Singers one match but not a whole game because, we weren't focused! We ended up getting 3rd place, which is pretty good for our first game. Wish us a good rest of the season!

Our Shopping Trip
One afternoon, my friends, Hope, Jenna, and I, went shopping. I will tell you, that it was an adventure! As we made our way to Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids, we took a trip to Dairy Queen. I ordered a strawberry sundae, Jenna ordered an Oreo Blizzard, and Hope ordered a chocolate sundae. After we got done eating our ice cream, I had a really bad headache. I get headaches a lot! Jenna played doctor on me and gave me some Ibuprofen.
"We're here!" Hope shouted excitedly.
"No duh," said Jenna. Walking in, we all skipped then Hope fell on her face! (If you haven't noticed Hope is a pretty big blond! In the past she had made a pretty big fool out of herself. Once she was doing a presentation on the computer, and she tripped over one of the cords, which made her fall.) She started laughing, and got up to join Jenna and me on our way through doors of the Lindale Mall.
The first store we went to, was Aeropostale. As we were looking Hope said,
"I want that!"
Jenna and I walked over and looked at the price tag, a $95.00 outfit! It included skinny jeans, a shirt, and a jacket to go along with!
"Jeez, Hope, that is pretty expensive," I said sarcastically.
"Ya, I agree," said Jenna.
"Well, I'm getting it," said Hope.
Hope just rolled her eyes and went to the check out counter.
"Let's go to the next store," I said to Jenna.
We walked into Justice and I immediately ran toward a shirt I really adored.
"I call this shirt, nobody take it," I said anxiously.
The shirt was blue (my favorite color) and it has zebra stripes, the shirt went to your elbow, and it was a V neck. Hope and Jenna didn't seem to like it much, but that meant they wouldn't take it from me.
"That would be $35.00 please," said the cashier.
"What?! $35.00? We are going to spend either really close to our budget or way over! And my mom will kill me if that happens," said Jenna.
"How do you know?" said Hope against Jenna's statement.
"Hope, I know you and I will guarantee you that it will happen... trust me," Jenna said, certain.
"Okay, whatever you say," said Hope, determined.
We've been shopping for 3 hours now.
"I'm hungry," said Hope.
"Okay what restaurant should we go to," I asked.
"I WANT MCDONALDS!!!" screamed Hope in excitement.
"Well, I think we have our answer," said Jenna.
Once we all got done eating, Jenna had to go to the bathroom.
"I'm cold! Let's go back in the van and once Jenna's out she can come back," I said.
"But she doesn't know that we are in the van! Wait, she's smart, she can figure it out."
"Let's go!" I said impatiently.
Once Jenna was done she went and waited for us in the main eating part of McDonalds.
"Is she done yet?!" Hope asks me in the van.
"Do you think I have any idea?" I say, "Well I'm sure she is done, so maybe she thought we went back to the mall. Should we check?"
"Probably," said Hope.
At the mall we looked in Justice and Aeropostale and she wasn't in either one!
"Hope, I think we left her at McDonalds,"I said.
"Well, it is possible since we left early to come here and look for her," Hope assumed.
Right when she said that I was in shock. Not only because we have a chance to find Jenna, but because she didn't have a blond comment back! Which is pretty amazing because she is the biggest blond that I have ever met!
"We better go back to McDonalds," Hope said hopefully.
You can maybe tell that Hope and I are very afraid of losing Jenna because if we never find her, what will her mom say? I am assuming it's not going to be a very nice conversation.
"Well, then let's go," I said worried that Jenna wasn't going to be there.
As we walk into McDonalds, Jenna sprints into both of our arms.
"Where were you guys? I've been here for, like, ever!" Jenna screamed.
"We thought you were done and you went to the mall, so we went to the mall to find you and I guess we left you here? Are you okay?" Hope and I said in unison.
"Just promise me that you won't leave me behind in McDonalds again... or anywhere else?"
"I promise," I said seriously.
"Well, I promise with my pinkie! Do you guys get it? (Pinkie promise)" said Hope cheerfully.
"Good, because that wasn't very fun! What store are we going to go to next?" Jenna wondered.
"My sister said something about a store that we went to before, but I can't seem to remember... WAIT, I got it, well part of it! It started with a K." I said unsure.
"Oh I know what you're talking about.. I've been there too! Was it Kay Jewelers?" Hope asked.
"No.. I think it was a clothing store," I said.
"It is Kohl's, or isn't it?" asked Jenna.
"Yes! That's it! How did you know?" I asked.
"Because I am just smart, I guess." Jenna responded.
Once we were in Kohl's, it was packed! Not only of people, but clothes! Which is kind of the point since it's a clothing store.
"This shirt is cute, but it's expensive!" I noticed.
"I guess that just means if you don't absolutely like it then you don't get it!" Jenna said.
"If you put it that way, you sound mean," said Hope rudely.
"Let's not get in a fight," I said hoping they would agree.
"Fine," said Hope and Jenna unhappily.
"I like these!" said Jenna, looking at a set of earrings.
"How much does it cost?" I asked.
"$15.00. But they are really cute and I don't have any," said Jenna making it sound like she is about to die without this set of earrings.
"Well how much money is on the credit card that your mom gave us?" I asked anxious to know.
As Jenna was digging through her satchel Hope came a upon a really cute pair of Ugg Boots.
"Since you're letting Jenna get that pair of earrings can I get this pair of Ugg Boots?" asked Hope.
"First of all I never actually said that I was going to get Jenna the pair of earrings. I just asked how much money her mom had on the credit card. How much is that pair of boots?" I said.
"Let's see here.." said Hope as I asked Jenna how much her mom had on that credit card.
"My mom put $150.00 on it," said Jenna as she was on her way to the check out counter.
"That will be $15.00," said the cashier.
Jenna handed the Credit Card to the cashier.
"You need 5 more dollars to be able to pay for this pair of earrings," said the cashier.
After we heard the cashier say that, we all huddled and discussed what we were going to give up so we can pay for the earrings.
"I say that you give up your shirt," said Hope to me.
"What?! If you end up getting these Ugg boots, you will have two things that you have bought, and Jenna and I only have had one," I said meanly.
"Hey! I guess I can put these Ugg boots back," Hope said sadly.
"Ladies, I need you to pay for these now or they go back on the shelf." reminded the cashier.
"Okay, we are not going to buy the Ugg boots and we are not going to buy the earrings," said Jenna disappointed.
"Ok, then your credit card is now out of money," said the cashier as she was giving me the receipt.
On the car ride home us girls got into a little fight.
"Jenna, why did you put those earrings back?" I asked.
"Because I knew that we wouldn't have enough money anyway and plus I knew you wouldn't give anything up."
"Well, you should know that you didn't have to do that!" I said.
After I said that the rest of the car ride home was in silence.
When we arrived at Jenna's house her mom greeted us.
"So, how was the trip?" she asked.
"It was all right." Jenna said.
"I guess it was fun!" said Hope.
"Why are you guys so gloomy?" Jenna's mom wondered.
"Promise you won't be mad... okay?" I said to her mom.
"Promise. Now spill. Remember tell the truth." Jenna's mom declared.
"We kind of spent all the money on the credit card you gave us." I said in disgust.
"It is fine, I assumed you girls would spent over the amount that the credit card had on it. So I will just buy the stuff you guys couldn't." said Jenna's mom generously.
"Thank you for the credit card and letting me take my friends shopping with me I love you, mom!" said Jenna.
"You girls deserve to have a fun day once in a while," Jenna's mom said happily.
"We're here!" Hope shouted excitedly.
"No duh," said Jenna. Walking in, we all skipped then Hope fell on her face! (If you haven't noticed Hope is a pretty big blond! In the past she had made a pretty big fool out of herself.

Over the Holidays...
Over the long break, I was very entertained because, I babysat my cousins on New Year's Eve. Their names were Ella (9), Drew (6), and Carly (4).
After they got to my house, I asked them if they wanted to play Just Dance 4. Carly says,"Ya I wanna shake my booty!"
So I say," Okay". According to Carly, we had to dance to the Justin Bieber song and of course, she wanted me to dance with her! After that whole ordeal was over, Drew wanted to play Tractor Pull on my iPod touch that I got for Christmas, I let him. Ella and my sister, Molly, were playing school on Molly's marker board.
Then after they were tired of playing Just Dance 4, they said they wanted to have something to eat. So, I put a frozen pizza, in the oven. After that was done baking, I cut the pizza and cut Carly's piece into smaller slices. I did the same with Drew's piece. If all the kids ate their whole piece of pizza, which they did. Carly ate one piece of pizza, Drew ate one, and Molly ate two, same with Ella.
After that I put in the movie Carly wanted to watch, Tangled. She knew every line to that movie! She must've watched it how many times. While she and the other kids were watching the movie I was braiding her hair. She was sitting in front of the chair I was sitting in and she had her eyes locked to the T.V, she was also singing the song Call Me Maybe. Once I was done, she started dancing around and singing to that song so I had the amazing idea to video tape it on my iPod. She was really funny!
"Can we have popcorn?" asked Drew in starvation.
"Ella and Carly do you want popcorn?" I asked.
"Ya!" they both said unison.
So I put a bag of popcorn in, not knowing that you're not supposed to set that type of popcorn for four minutes in the microwave. So it was now nine o'clock and the kids just got their pajamas on. As I walked out of the living room and into the kitchen I saw the popcorn covered the glass part to see out of! So I opened the microwave and all of the popcorn had fallen on the floor... everywhere!
Once I got that big mess picked up and got each kid their own little bowl of popcorn. I turned on Good Luck Charlie.
It was 10:30 and all of the kids were sleeping on the floor. After one episode of that was over, I watched my favorite movie, The Coach. It's about basketball, and that's my favorite sport!
The next morning all of the kids woke up on each side of me, and almost on top of me, they were that close! Right when Carly woke up she said, " I want pancakes!"
"And sausage!" said Drew.
So I put the pancake batter on the pan and as that was cooking, I got the kids into their all day clothes.
After they ate all of their breakfast, they finished playing Just Dance 4. Then their parents came and took them home. I guess you could say my Christmas Break was pretty entertaining!
