Wii Game vs. A Real Sport
When playing a Wii game, it can be compared to a real sport in many ways.
Wii games and a real sport have to do with sports... obviously. They both have to involve players to play the sports. I bet if you are playing either a Wii game or a real sport, you are probably having fun with each of them.
A real sport has a few different things though.. a real sport uses a real ball in order to play. It also uses real people, unlike the Wii game using fake, animated people. The sport game uses real life things, even though it would be way more fun to be able to play in an animated game! When you play a Wii game you are most likely to win, but when you play in real life you could win or lose.
I like both Wii games and a real sport game. I like that a real sport has more players and that you can play with your friends. I like my friends being able to play with me because they always tell me "good job." They keep my head up when I mess up and get mad at myself. I don't like playing the Wii when I am playing a sport game on it because it isn't the real thing.. and that makes me mad! See, there are a lot of difference between the both of them!
I think playing a real sport way more fun than playing a sport on a TV. But, they both keep me entertained!

Maddy's Poems
Haiku: Sun Rising
Light changes color
Beautiful morning features
Peace begins to rise
Fireflies
Night is beginning
Out come the little lights
Quietly buzzing
Cinquain: Basketball
Shoot, score, run fast!
Defense, Offense, go team!
Keep up the great work, don't give up
"Air Ball!"
Volleyball
Bump, set, and spike
Serve, receive, and free ball.
Competition, games are fun!
Point!
Rhyme: Monkeys
Monkeys, monkeys everywhere
There is one here and there is one there!
They squeal and climb on a variety of vines
They may even mess with your minds!
Monkeys are my favorite, it's easy to see
Even though monkeys are crazier than you and me!
Hippos
Fat, funny, they have big tummies
Lumpy texture, hairy chests
But hippos seem to be the best!

Izabel
Izabel is a good friend of mine. She has blond hair and gorgeous brown eyes! Izabel is very out-going, kind, funny, and knows a lot about music! Some of the songs she sings I haven't even heard of! Most important about Izabel is that she can put a smile on your face just thinking of her! I really like that she is entertaining! I really like you Izabel and I always will
Hannah
Hannah is a good friend of mine. She has beautiful blond hair and gorgeous blue eyes. One thing I really like about Hannah is that she gives very good advise and that she is always doing the right thing! Hannah once told me that she either wanted to be a veterinarian or a brain surgeon! This is my response to you Hannah, you shoot for the stars and keep working hard and you will get to be one of those! You are a very smart girl and you should believe that! I really like you Hannah and always will!
Finding Nemo!
Finding Nemo is my absolute favorite movie (besides the Hunger Games)!! My favorite characters in that movie is Nemo and Dori! Dori is the little blue fish that seems to have lost her memory and Nemo is the main character, which is a fish! I like this movie because it is very funny and cute! The main idea in this movie is that Nemo gets lost trying to prove to his dad that his little fin is just fine and that his dad doesn't have to worry! But then while searching for Nemo, Marvin (dad of Nemo) finds a friend named Dori and they go on a trip throughout the sea in search of Nemo! Nemo was not just an only child, his other brothers and sisters got stolen in the beginning of the movie by this shark that killed his mom. That's why he has a bad fin.
If I had to think of a theme for this movie it would be, don't try to impress, just be yourself and stay safe. That's my description of Finding Nemo!

I Wish I Could Speak Spanish!
I really wish I could speak Spanish! One reason is because I could go up to people and start speaking Spanish and they would have no idea what I would say! But that doesn't mean that I would say bad things about them! I would just laugh at the expressions. But I would have a really good excuse on getting my mom to let me go to Mexico, because I would just tell them that I want to learn Spanish from famous Spanish speakers. I hope someday I learn Spanish.

If You Give A Dog A Bone...
If you give a dog a bone, he will want to chew it. But before he will want to play with it. So you play with him. Since you played with him, you are now tired. You will want a drink of water. Now that you want a drink of water, he now thinks he is thirsty. Once he sees you pour the water into your glass, he now notices that he has to go to the bathroom. So you take him outside. As you are waiting, you are getting frustrated, because you were waiting for so long. Which leads you to thinking about that drink you wanted, so you go back inside to get the drink of water, leaving the dog outside. Once the dog is done going to the bathroom, he realizes that you are no longer there! So he runs away. You notice that it was much quieter. Thinking that, led you to the conclusion that the dog must be missing! So you go get him. After that task is over, you are thirsty... AGAIN! So you go get a drink. After that you go to the bathroom, leaving the dog by the bathroom door. Once you're done, the dog all of a sudden gets hyper! Suddenly you realize why, it's because he wants that bone! So you come to the conclusion that you left it on the couch. Eventually the dog finds it and begins to play with it! Then he realizes that he was thirsty...

My Morning Routine
The first thing I do in the morning is wake up, but most of the time I sleep in little longer then when my alarm goes off. Even if I sleep in a LITTLE bit longer, my little sister comes in and turns on the light, not even realizing that I am still sleeping.
Anyway, the next thing I do is get dressed. I normally dream about what I am going to wear and of coarse another topic, so it doesn't take that long.
Next, I do my hair. This is my favorite part, only if my hair is cooperating. But even then, it takes me like 30 minutes.
Then, I go eat breakfast, only if I'm hungry, which isn't very often in the morning. Next, I brush my teeth. My sister seems to think that she can get out of having to brush her teeth in the morning, so I have to brush my teeth while she is. Which isn't my favorite thing to do!
After that, I go and pack my book bag. I then, tidy up my room, unless I'm not in the mood. Finally, I wait for the bus with my sister. That is my regular morning routine!

Faith is a good friend of mine. She has gorgeous brown hair, and beautiful brown eyes. Faith has a little brother Teige, a little sister Amaya, another little sister Saige, and another little brother Kash. I have to say that every single one of those kids are VERY adorable!! One thing I really like about Faith is that she is VERY caring. Faith can put a smile on your face just by talking to you! I love you Faith, and always will!
Madison is a good friend of mine. She has long, beautiful brown hair, and ripe green eyes. One thing I really like about Madison, is that she is understanding, forgiving, and she just "goes with the flow". Madison is very funny! She has an older sister, Kelsey and another older sister Cassie. They are both VERY pretty, just like Madison. Madison can be a really big blonde and a dork at times! Which I like about her, because I am the same way! She has a lot of cats and dogs! I love you Madison, and always will!

Why you should join softball..
Joining softball may be a very good decision you can make, maybe not, but I am hoping to convince you to make it a good decision.
Softball is one of my favorite sports. I like it because you can play many different positions and because it gets you used to being on a team. Softball has many positions, like I said, such as first-base, pitcher, third-base, second-base, short-stop, right-field ( In the out field), left-field, right center, left center, and catcher. Do you realize how many positions that is? I play first base and third, but next year I am going to start pitching.
Playing softball can also build up your bicep muscles. Only because the only way you get the ball around is by throwing it. Because that's how you get someone out! I also think that if you aren't much of a runner, like I am, it's a good excuse to join! Because, you only run around the bases once. But if you don't hit a home run, you don't have to run around the WHOLE bases, that's a good thing for me! I hope that that will convince you to join softball!

Kaela has an adorable little sister Kylie, and an enormously cute little brother Lucas. Kaela is a great friend because she is trustworthy, caring, funny, generous and she is a very entertaining little girl. Kaela plays volleyball and softball.
My favorite memory of Kaela is when it was her birthday party and we drank A LOT of pop and when we sang happy birthday, I shoved a cupcake in her face. So she started a cupcake fight with me! Remember Kaela, I will always love you!

Katie
Katie is a good friend of mine. Katie has beautiful long blond hair, blue eyes and is medium height. Some things I like about Katie is that she is trustworthy, funny, and caring. Katie can be a lunatic sometimes, but that's why I like her, we can be lunatics together! Katie is an amazing friend! She is what anyone can every ask for! Katie has two twin sisters named, Brooke and Kelsey. They look exactly like each other, it is hard to tell them apart! My favorite memory of Katie is when she had her birthday party and we had BIG balloons and little balloons and we called them our "family." That was fun! Just remember, Katie I will always love you!

Maci
Maci is a good friend of mine. She is very funny and we have had a lot of fun together! One thing I really like about Maci is that she is the friend anyone would want to have. Maci does not gossip, and doesn't brag. Maci is tall skinny, has long brown hair, and is very athletic. She has a little brother named Kade and a dog named Maxwell. (Maci is in love with her dog!) My favorite memory of Maci is when she took me camping and we rode four wheelers, golf carts, and way more fun things! Our little "catch saying" is when I call Maci, "Papa" and she calls me "Mama". The thing that seems to crack us both up, is the movie "Bruce Almighty". Just remember Maci, I will always love you!
Olivia
Olivia is one of my good friends. She is really funny! Olivia amazing long brown hair, blue eyes, and she is tall and skinny. Olivia has two sisters named Shawnae and Macy. She really doesn't like them too well! Olivia is very kind and caring. When you need some cheering up she is there because she is very funny! Olivia is a great friend anyone would want to have, because she likes to have fun! My favorite memory with Olivia is spending a whole weekend with her when we went to Drake to watch Shawnae and my sister Macy play basketball! Just remember Olivia I will always love you!

Sammy
Sammy is a very trustworthy, entertaining, caring friend. She is my best friend along with Brooke. One thing I really like about Sammy, is that she is very nice and that as she cares about others. Another thing I like about Sammy is that she is always there for you, if you need to talk out your feelings. We always have our own little conversations about what we think and how we would help solve the thing that is happening. Sammy has gorgeous straight blond hair, blue eyes, and is very skinny. My favorite memory of Sammy is when we went an MV basketball game and we talked the whole time! The reason this is my favorite is because it proves that she should be a therapist! Only because she understands a lot about that person's problem. Sammy has 3 very talented and beautiful older sisters. The oldest is Kelly. She has already graduated college and her job is an actuary. Kelly has long blond hair, just like Sammy's. She is very funny and is a great cook. The next one, Kendra, is my all time favorite. She goes to college at Wartburg for track. She has long dark chocolate hair. Kendra is very skinny, Sammy says Kendra is bossy but I don't agree! The youngest is Kelsey. She goes to Iowa State for college. She has long, dirty-blond hair. Kelsey is a good volleyball player. Sammy is a really great friend of mine! Just remember, Sammy I will always love you!

Brooke
Brooke is 1 out of my 2 best friends. She has beautiful wavy, dark-brown hair. She has 3 sisters and 1 brother. Her brother's name is Drew and her oldest sister's name is Megan, next is Emily, then it's Angie. Brooke is involved in volleyball (which she claims is her favorite sport), basketball, softball, band, choir, 4-H, and a lot more! I like Brooke because she is always there for me. I can trust her, and she is very entertaining! My favorite memory of Brooke is when we had to go do chores and she had to feed her calf Daisy- who is blind. So she climbed half way up the fence, when I heard her screaming " DAISY!!! COME GIRL!" Daisy didn't come. So Brooke decided to take off her boot and bang it against the feed bin, right along the fence. That was very hysterical. I love you Brooke (as a friend) and always will!

David Robinson
David Robinson, (a NBA basketball player) was born on August 6, 1995. He grew up from Key West, Florida.
He joined the San Antonio Spurs in 1989, quickly establishing himself as one of the best centres in the NBA. David won 2 NBA titles, playing on the Spurs. With averaging 24.3 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.9 blocked shots per game during his rookie season. David helped the Spurs win 35 more games than the previous season. Wow!
In 2009, Robinson was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. I drew the conclusion that he was committed to the sports he played, because of how much he made a difference to the team, once he joined!
But, besides all of this sports stuff, David was a hero to his town & his family. The town people called him a "generous dude." David donated 5 million dollars to a college academy. David also served 2 years of Navy duty after he graduated! Based on those hero like things he did, led me to conclude that he didn't brag, he came home and was inspiring to his town and family. You are a really
"generous dude" Mr. David Robinson!

Lost and Found..
One day after school, my mom had picked up me and we were on our way home when I find a little boy about my age, with a little puppy who was really cute.
"Mom, look at that little puppy, can I keep it?" I asked anxiously.
"Just relax, we have to get a little information and observe the puppy a little bit."
So, my mom pulled over and asked the boy if he needed a ride home, and we offered a ride for the puppy too! While coming home, I asked him curiously, "Since you found this dog and I really like it, and I will be playing with it and hopefully you will too! So, what is your name?"
"Ben, I really like this little puppy too and I will be joining you and the puppy to play."
The next day, before school, I started my day with visiting my friend Ben, and our little lost puppy.
"Did the puppy whine at all last night?" I asked.
"Nope not a sound that I heard." Ben replied.
"Well, good job Butterscotch!" I said proudly.
"What?! What did you call him?" asked Ben in shock.
"Butterscotch, do you think that fits him?" I asked.
"Fits him for what?" said Ben curiously.
I think he was kind of like afraid of naming this puppy. Almost like he was afraid of the responsibility of taking care of it.
"For a name, is that a good fit name for this puppy we are taking care of now?"
"Ya, I guess so."
I felt a little disappointed, but I really felt bad for this puppy, so I felt that we should give him company. So off we went to the pen.
"Hi Butterscotch!" Ben and I said in unison, as we started playing with him.
Butterscotch is not as cute as he looks. I mean he is cute but, yet feisty.
The next weekend, after soccer practice, I went over to Ben's house and saw Ben trying to get Butterscotch to play, but Butterscotch wouldn't budge.
" Butterscotch, you want a treat?" Ben persuaded.
But all I heard was a "dog whimper" from Butterscotch. I was really getting really suspicious after I heard that, so I went over to Ben and talked to him about Butterscotch.
" Ben, are you noticing what I am noticing?" I asked.
"I hope so. I was on my way out to go visit Butterscotch, when I heard him whining. I wonder whats going on!" He said curiously.
"I bet he is scared." I declared.
"I bet he doesn't like us." Ben said rudely.
What was he thinking?! I spend a lot of time playing with him and Butterscotch! I was very disappointed that he thought that was the problem with Butterscotch, how rude.
" You're kidding right?!" I asked him.
"Well, I am almost ALWAYS taking care of him."
"Whatever." I said annoyed.
" He's acting up because he misses his family. Not because he is mad at you guys." said mom unexpectedly.
" That makes sense!" replied Ben.
" Ya Ben, don't blame it all on me!" I said bull-headed.
" He He. Oops sorry, no really, I am sorry." Ben smirked.
"Wait a minute, We should keep Butterscotch!" I decided.
"What do you mean?" asked Ben.
" I really think it's pretty self explanatory. I mean we should keep him!" "We give him company, and we have the 3 main things that he needs in order to live." I said seriously.
"Well, its fine with me!" Ben said excitedly.
Next morning I take my daily visit, when, I am greeted with my best friend, Ben, and my favorite puppy, Butterscotch. (I'm so special!)
I say,"Hey Ben and Butterscotch, are you ready to play?!"

Basketball!
I play basketball, and I am going to explain all of the positions and how to play the game.
Basketball is an intense sport. Your 2 priorities are to know where the ball is, and if you have the ball, put it in the hoop. In this sport you do have to have an enemy. Not necessarily but you have to be "mean" or "tough" to the person you are defending.
There is a point guard in basketball, their job is to dribble the ball up the court and start mostly all of the plays. They are located anywhere on the court, if you are the point guard, you have to be able to control the ball and you have to move fast. Only because everyone on the other team is trying to stop the ball from getting to the hoop.
The post is the "plow" (no offense posts). But they truly have to be strong on the court and with the ball. They cannot be weak, their job to have strong hands and be able to shoot with people around them, trying to get the ball. That's why they have to be strong with the ball. The posts are located at the bottom block. Which is right before the baseline, (I play post and I like it).
Next is the wings. They have to be able to control the ball like the point guards. But, they have to be able to shoot, and make the shot from anywhere on the court. They're located around the 3 point "rainbow" or half-circle.
Well I really like basketball and I hope you like it too!

What Eggs Really Are...
There once was a girl named Haley and a boy named Nathan. They both believed that eggs were absolutely disgusting. ( I agree with them.)
One day at school they had to do an assignment on bar graphs. The students had to go around asking who liked eggs, because that is what they were having for a brunch that day. So everyone went around but nobody asked Nathan or Haley, knowing that they don't like eggs.
When they had to do a presentation to the class, the next day, the teacher asked why Nathan and Haley weren't on the list of either liking eggs or not.
The students all replied,"They BOTH don't like eggs!!"
"Well why not?!" asked the teacher in shock.
Nathan and Haley both looked at each other thinking,"What? We are the only one who doesn't like eggs? They have little baby birds in them. Are these people crazy?" You could tell they were thinking that because they had those expressions on their faces.
"Well, students, we will just have to prove them wrong," said the teacher.
Nathan groaned, "Great..."
The next day the kids all got organized in the morning and went right to recess. Everyone kept picking on Nathan and Haley and making little jokes about them thinking they hated eggs.
"You know we all have our own opinion, when it comes to liking food. We may not like what you guys think are delicious," said Haley nicely.
So then the teacher had the class say sorry once Haley and Nathan got done telling the class about their opinions. But when the school day was over Nathan went over to Haley's house to study then Haley said, "Should we try some eggs?"
Nathan agreed. And they began cooking.
The End

My Fantasy...
One day after school, my sister, Emily, and I went outside to play with the neighbors on the swing set. When we came upon unicorn!
"Awww, he's cute!" said Emily right when she saw the unicorn.
I have to admit that I agree with her, she is cute.
"What should we name her?" asked one of the neighbor boys. I thought it should be something happy. Like, to fit one of the traits of a unicorn. So I thought of Bubbles!
"Hey Emily do you like the name Bubbles?" I asked hoping she would agree.
"Of course! I love that name!" said Emily excitedly.
But, there was this little feeling that was bothering me, I couldn't quite figure it out. Then I realized, who was going to take care of this unicorn and will mom let us keep it?
Later that day, I got in an argument with Emily. Yes, I know it's hard to believe but we did. It was about who was going to be in charge of Bubbles.
"But, I'm the one who said she was cute first!" declared Emily. I was shocked that she was going to keep this up! Thinking that she was actually going to win me over.
So I fought back saying," I am not going to keep this up, if you want to take care of her fine, but I have to warn you, it's harder than it seems."
It was Emily's first day of chores for Bubbles and she was already have troubles. She was either saying, "Help I'm stuck in the fence" or "Bubbles is acting up, she's just standing there."
The next day Bubbles was laying down and moping. So, I went over to the fence and petted her and talked to her. Then she seemed fine, but after supper I went to go talk to her, to give her company and she was GONE!
I didn't want to disappoint Emily so I just kept it to myself.
The first thing I did to help find Bubbles, was I called 911 and report a missing unicorn. But, of course they didn't believe me, so then I called my mom and dad and told them because they know I'm telling the truth. So they went out looking on their lunch break! But I realized something... why would Bubbles leave in the first place?
"Emily come down here I have to tell you some news about Bubbles," I screamed from the bottom of the steps.
"Ok I'm coming!" responded Emily.
Once I told her that Bubbles has gone missing, she freaked! She started crying! I really didn't think that Bubbles meant that much to her, I thought she just thought that she was a toy, you can play with it but it might not mean anything to her.
I seem to realize that unicorns really don't belong in the city, or anywhere besides rainbows. But I keep telling Emily that and she doesn't seem to understand it, but that with come with a course of time!
The End.

Nike Products
I'd like to talk to you about my favorite brand! It is the Nike sports products. There are all sorts of different choices between clothes, sports shoes, sports accessories, and much more! They come in all sorts of fabric and colors! I also use this product and I have to say that it is very, very comfortable! I also know that they aren't very expensive! Which is a good thing because, they are sold in a lot of stores, so they are easy to get and locate! The thing I like about the Nike brand is that it comes with these little sayings. Like, "Just Do It" or "Champions are made in practice" and stuff like that. Thing like that are on like headbands and t-shirts. I really like this product and also hope that you do too!!

Volleyball!
Hi! I play volleyball and I am going to explain why it is so fun! One reason is because you are always moving. Meaning, that you have to know where the ball is and how to react to it! In volleyball I am the setter. On the court it is located in the middle front. (By the net). The setter's job it to receive the ball from the passer (in the back row) and get it to the hitter, so they can hit it easily. And that is tricky but fun! There is another position in volleyball and that is the passer. That is located all along the back row. Their job is to "dig" the ball from the serve. "Dig" means to receive the ball and make a good pass to the setter. And that is basically their job. Otherwise, they have to contact the ball after a spike from the other team. And that's funny to see people expressions. Now, onto the hitter. They are located on the two sides of the setter, in the front row. Their job is easy. Their job is to time the ball from the setter's hands and be able to hit the ball hard to the other side. All of those positions are really fun! But, remember you can't just go on the court and expect to know all of these things. You have to work on it and practice A LOT! That's basically volleyball!

My Future...
Hi! Today I am going to talk through my future plan. I first would like to get a scholorship at the end of High School. If I don't get one then I will take that or I might just go to college for what I REALLY wish for, and that is to be a Pediatric Surgeon. The College I plan on going to is Mount Mercy. My friend and I are planning to be "college buddies" because we both want to go into the Medical Field. And that takes like 4 years of college. So if i want to go into the "saving lives" part of Medical, I need to step up my game! The reason I considered this as my career is because my aunt did this and I seem to want to live her life! But I hope that I get my future that I have worked hard for all of my life!! You should figure out what yours is and work hard to get it!

The Exciting Life Of A Movie Star!
Hi! I'm Maddy. I want to talk to you about a movie stars' exciting life. They have a very busy and exciting life because they get paid a lot of money for acting out movies. Why do they get paid a lot of money? Because, they show the world part of their main talents. It seems like the fans like their talents so much they make a decision based on their own life. Which is to be exactly like that certain movie star! And that is probably the movie stars main goal! As you can see they live a dream!:) They also get to see the movie before anyone else because they are acting it out! When I grow up I'd like to live my life as easy as they do!

Like, if you are sad they keep you happy!:)
There are so many more reasons what a true friend is. But you have to try and find your true friend!

The Good Things About Being An Only Child
Hi! It's Maddy again! This time I am going to tell you about the good things of being an only child. One thing, is that you get some time to yourself. If you have a little brother or sister they can get in the way or get really annoying. And that bothers me! You wouldn't have to be responsible for keeping track of them or babysitting them. It would also give you more attention by your mom and dad! That's a good thing! Another thing, is that you would get to go to more places. Like, if I go somewhere, I normally have to take my little sister with me and she would get picked up later. But if you were an only child, you wouldn't have a little sister to go places with you! See, being an only child has it's advantages!

Difficulty Of Babysitting...
Hi! I'm Maddy. I am going to talk to you about the difficulty of babysitting. The first hard part is that you have a big responsibility babysitting, meaning you can't just mess around, you have to get some work done! And when you are getting that work done you can have fun while doing them! You also have to know how to cook a meal for the kids. Another thing is that you have to be a romodel for them!
I advise that if you are going to babysit, you should be somewhat good with kids and make them want to have you there again! Those are some details on how sometimes it is difficult to being a baby-sitter.
