Volleyball!

Hi! I play volleyball and I am going to explain why it is so fun! One reason is because you are always moving. Meaning, that you have to know where the ball is and how to react to it! In volleyball I am the setter. On the court it is located in the middle front. (By the net). The setter's job it to receive the ball from the passer (in the back row) and get it to the hitter, so they can hit it easily. And that is tricky but fun! There is another position in volleyball and that is the passer. That is located all along the back row.  Their job is to "dig" the ball from the serve. "Dig" means to receive the ball and make a good pass to the setter. And that is basically their job. Otherwise, they have to contact the ball after a spike from the other team. And that's funny to see people expressions.  Now, onto the hitter. They are located on the two sides of the setter, in the front row. Their job is easy. Their job is to time the ball from the setter's hands and be able to hit the ball hard to the other side. All of those positions are really fun! But, remember you can't just go on the court and expect to know all of these things. You have to work on it and practice A LOT! That's basically volleyball!

  1. Maddy this is a very informational blog post. I liked how you told us a lot of facts about volleyball. My favorite was when you told us about the bump set and spike positions and what they do!
